BUILD HILL
The Park City mountains above the Wasatch Back

BUILDING IN THE WASATCH SINCE 1987

Family owned, mountain built

WHO WE ARE

The name is new. The builder is not. Build Hill is a Park City custom home builder carrying forward three generations of family construction in the Wasatch Back.

Build Hill was founded in 2026 by Gary Hill. The family has been building here since 1987, when his father started Midway Construction Company — known to most of its clients as MCC Homes. Gary came up through that company, ran it alongside his brother, and built much of the work it is known for. With the brothers now each taking their own direction, Build Hill is where his share of that work continues.

THE BUILDER

Gary Hill

FOUNDER · GENERAL CONTRACTOR

Gary was on jobsites before he was old enough to be paid for it. In his teens he and his family built Daniels Summit Lodge — a full commercial build up Daniels Canyon, framed and finished by the people he grew up with. He went on to study general contracting in college, and came back to the same mountains he started in.

His father started Midway Construction Company in 1987, building commercial work around the valley. When Gary and his brother took the company over, they turned it into something else: as MCC Homes it became one of the premier custom home builders in the Park City area, through the decades that turned Park City from a ski town into what it is now.

Build Hill is his company now — and his name over the door. He leads a team he has built and trusts, and he is on the lot with them: one contractor accountable for the whole thing, who still walks the job and still answers the phone.

WHAT WE BUILD

New builds, remodels, commercial

Custom homes are the centre of the practice. The crews, the standards and the licence cover more than that — and always have.

Custom homes

New construction on mountain lots.

From the first grading plan to the day the furniture goes in. It is the majority of what we build and the reason most clients call — houses designed for a specific site, a specific family, and a specific winter.

Remodels & additions

Houses already standing.

Whole-house renovations, additions, and gut remodels taken back to the studs. Older mountain homes hide their problems in the envelope and the mechanicals; we open them up, fix what is behind the drywall, and finish to the same standard as a new build.

Commercial

Clubhouses, member facilities, light commercial.

The structural loads, mechanical systems, and inspection regime a commercial shell demands are the ones our mountain houses already meet. We build commercial work in the same towns we build homes — and we have done it here before.

HOW WE BUILD

The site sets the terms

Mountain lots are unforgiving: steep grade, short build seasons, snow load, wind, and access that changes with the weather. We plan for all of it before the first excavator arrives, and we build with the subcontractors and suppliers we have worked with for decades.

The result is a house that behaves the way it should in January, not just the way it photographs in June.

Our process

01

Planning

We join you, your architect and your designer as one team, early enough to shape the build rather than react to it — and we price it, so you know what the vision costs before drawings are final.

02

Preconstruction

Permits go in, the schedule gets built around them, and the site, subcontractors and long-lead orders are lined up so the excavator starts the week it is supposed to.

03

Building

Demo on a remodel, the dig on a new build — then a team assigned to your project, tracking every detail through framing, systems and finish, with weekly updates you can actually read.

04

Handover and warranty

We walk the house with you: AV and systems training, furniture in, punch list closed, finishing touches done — and a builder you can still call in year three.

Let’s talk about your build.
